I have been on Urso for several years and then started taking Ocaliva with the Urso a couple of years ago. I was in stage 3 and in the last couple of weeks had an ultra sound done and the result came back as the beginning of stage 4. I am now getting a biopsy done. I go to doctor every 6 mos.with new blood tests. I have NO symptoms *Thank God*! And all of my labs are Good. I read that's it's just bring your liver enzymes down. But don't stop the progressive of it..
I was told Urso lowers the enzymes, but only slows the progression.
I think the idea is that it slows the progression so that our livers will last a lifetime.

I started Milk thistle when I was put on Urso, 250 mg twice a day for years. It’s the only herbal that the FDA recommends.

I have recently experienced a bowel blockage. I am curious if anyone thinks that the Urso could cause this to happen as it does cause constipation. I am a bit skeptical to take the Urso, but my dr says to take it even though on a liquid diet. I was off it for 2 days and my enzyms went down over 100. Sure makes me wonder
Urso has worked great for me!11 no constipation perfect bowel movements. I do 3To 5 fruits and veggies morning and nite. Eat Sardines, salmon, chicken only.
