All of my liver enzymes were elevated, My ANA and AMA we strongly positive. My biopsy was positive. According to my physicians and all of the reading that I have done, the gold standard is the liver biopsy. That's what makes the diagnosis. The other tests may or may not be positive and are only suspicious for the diagnosis.

Personally, I’d believe a liver biopsy and liver doctor over a blood test. But I would definitely talk with your liver doc. Maybe be retested for AMA.

I had symptoms for years. Then a spinal tap ( for another reason) showed extremely high levels of anti bodies. They did a liver biopsy that was positive. My blood work didn't become positive for several more years. I've had pbc for nearly 20 years now.

Yes , I was in the normal range but was struggling with throwing up and stomach problems. Found out I am Celiac. Biopsy showed PBC. Changed my diet to organic, gluten free . Very careful to eat fresh healthy foods. Exercise and rest.
