My Liver Doctor Said I Was Too Old To Get A Liver Transplant...I Am 74 Soon To Be 75...she Said It Was Too Dangerous For Me
I was seeing a doc at UH Cleveland. I didn’t like what he said. Take ursodol and I’ll see you in 1 yr. I did my own diligence and looked into Cleveland clinic. Found a new specialist. He had me do all these test. Found out I had another autoimmune. Started all these meds. Seeing me in 3 months. Having blood work every week . I can go on but he cared. That alone made me feel better.
Hi @A myPBCteam Member - Maybe look into getting a 2nd opinion from another doctor? Did your current doctor share what you can do to get better?
Hey @A myPBCteam Member - Thanks for sharing this. Have you gotten a second or third opinion from other doctors? I always find it beneficial to do my own research and get more opinions so I can weigh out my options.
@A myPBCteam Member - you can always call your insurance company and ask them to provide you with another doctor referral. You can always go back to your doctor, but they should be able to allow you to visit another doctor with that specialty!
I don't want a liver transplant I need a bone transplant...bones are the cause of my back pain
I Have PBC Since 2000 And All Of My Bones Are Affected Including My Spinal Column With Extreme Pain. I Have To Walk With A Cane At Home
There Is No Answer For My Bone Pain Other Than Bone Replacement And My Doctors All Said The Same Thing. I Am Too Old For Surgery
When Do You Know Your Ready For A Liver Transplant?
