Has Anyone Ever Experienced An Infection In Your Salivary Ducts Or Developed Stones In The Salivary Duct?
Hey @A myPBCteam Member - Is this something you're experiencing? If so, I'm sorry this is the case! Infections or stones in the salivary ducts can be quite uncomfortable. While it's not a common complication of pbc, it's possible due to changes in your body's overall function.
Have you discussed this with your doctor? They might recommend treatments like staying hydrated, massaging the affected area, or even specific medications to help clear the infection or manage the stones.
You're definitely not alone—other members might have similar experiences or advice. It's great you're reaching out to see if anyone else has dealt with this. Sharing our experiences can really help! 💙
Yest th, I have had severe jaw pain off and on for many years. No one can pin point the exact issue. Last week, my face was swollen again and the pain was horrible. I went to the ER and the doctor was sure that I have an infection in my salivary glands. I could drink the well dry and still dry mouth. My eyes are also very dry. I read online that up to 65% of people with PBC have issues with stones in their salivary ducts and or infections. Just wondering if anyone else has had pain a long the jaw line and difficulty swallowing, eating when this happens. I am on antibiotics now. It is a little better, but still dealing with it.
