Not Yet Diagnosed But...
Not yet diagnosed but researching until my next doctor's appointment: I had one round of bloodwork done and based on the results, my hepatologist sent me for another round. Those results came back positive for AMAs (63.9). Of course, I referred to my "round-the-clock doc" that led me to a PBC diagnosis. Did anyone get diagnosed based only on this? Any insight into your liver biopsy procedures?
Thanks, Lynita! Currently, my ALP levels are normal, though. Guess I'll see what he says next week.
Helpful information - thank you! Healthy wishes for you!
Being in the beginning stage Nutrition and Exercise is the key. I am 70 and have good numbers, no itch, and feel good. It takes work. I donβt salt my food. I read labels to check salt, sugar, fat content. No process foods. Organic and fresh.
Wholegrain bread and brown rice. I have to eat around 60 to 90 grams of protein
daily to keep muscle mass. I no longer crave a large piece of chocolate cake or
a glass of Baileys on ice. I am focused on following my Liver Doctors orders and keeping my Liver calm. We are here to support your journey. You are not alone.
Best wishes

Thank you for that! I had my liver biopsy and all was clear there. I had a terrible time with pain and was in the ER the day after. They did labs and the ALT and ALP were back down to normal but AST still a little high; they didn't test for ALP so not sure there. I meet back with the doctor next week and will see what he says. Based on what I know now, I think it'd not be a good idea to start URSO? It just seems like it's waaaaay too early.
It sounds like your PBC has been early.
