I was very scared and thought this was a death sentence but I have been living a normal life for about 10 years now. Each person has their own journey

I think that the best advice I learned is to listen to my body. Like many others here, I had bad liver numbers for years. When I finally got the PBC diagnosis, I was very angry that it wasn't found sooner. I now know that if it feels off, I need to explore the reason. I have been taking Ursodiol for a year now and have been paying much more attention to my body - ALL aspects - mind (stress levels), exercise for energy and diet (I pay better attention to my body after certain foods and learn from it). After this past year, I am feeling better and looking forward to getting stronger in 2025!

I too appreciate your comment. I was diagnosed about 3 months ago. Still waiting for some more tests to be done. It seems my counts have been high for at least 3 years but my primary doctor did'nt see a need to get things checked. Likely cause the numbers were only slightly high and a med I was on could have been the cause. In May the enzyme count was up around 350. I was taken off the med and put on a very ugly and strict diet. 3 months later the count was pushing 700. So then I was sent to the Hep Dr. Discovered I had early fatty liver disease and PBC. My counts are now withing normal range, However, Now I have many of the symptoms of this disease. BUT, I live my life with joy and peace and minimal complaining lol. God is sooo good. I expect to live out a pretty normal life in spite of this so called set back.

One question, can anyone say just how fast the PBC progresses or is that individually determined?

I was diagnosed in 2011, was put on Urso first, then had Ocaliva added to the Urso. Thank God I have been symptom free, and have had almost normal labs since being diagnosed. I just recently had an ultra sound with elasticity that resulted in stage 3-4, so my Hep.Dr. had me get a liver biopsy. The biopsy results came back stage 2-3, much better than the ultra sound. I am VERY Grateful for the latest results and will continue to do everything my Hep.Dr.says. I do my very best to Not let this sickness control me, so I live my life just for today, one day at a time.
